The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of an Islamic cleric, Alfa Ahmed, who allegedly used his visually impaired grandfather and uncle in Ibadan for alleged money rituals. According to reports, the incident occurred on Sunday evening, September 8, 2024, at Apete in the Ido Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect, known as Alfa Ahmed in the area, took advantage of his grandfather’s condition due to his visual impairment, as well as his uncle’s poor health, during the incident. A witness told Punch that the suspect’s goal was to use parts of their bodies for money rituals.
The victims reside in the same vicinity as the suspect, located at the back of a popular market in Apete. The incident occurred around 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm on Sunday, prompting people in the area to alert the police due to the tense atmosphere.
The spokesperson for the command, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the development to Punch, stating that investigations had commenced on the matter.
