The Kano State Police Command has successfully rescued a four-year-old boy, Muhammad Jamilu, who was kidnapped from Sharada Quarters and taken to Gwarzo Town. The boy was abducted on unknown circumstances and was held hostage for an undisclosed period.

The police received a report of the abduction and immediately launched an investigation. The State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, ordered the immediate rescue of the victim and the arrest of the culprits.

In a press statement, the police spokesman, Abdullahi Kiyawa, confirmed that three suspects were arrested in connection with the abduction. The suspects, Hisbullahi Salisu, 30, Hassan Ali Rabiu, 28, and Hassan Aliyu, 22, were all from Kano.

The police also revealed that the kidnappers demanded a ransom of ₦10 million from the family of the abducted boy. However, after negotiations, ₦300,000 was paid as part payment of the ransom, pending the balance.

The police were able to rescue the boy unharmed and have conveyed him to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital in Kano for medical attention.

The principal suspect, Salisu, confessed to conspiring with the others to kidnap the boy and hold him hostage in Gwarzo Town. The police are continuing to investigate the incident to determine the motives behind the kidnapping.

The successful rescue of the four-year-old boy is a testament to the efforts of the Kano State Police Command to protect citizens and combat crime.
