The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has dispatched operatives to all local government areas in Edo State to combat voter bribery ahead of the September 21, 2024 governorship election. The move is aimed at ensuring the integrity of the electoral process.

According to a statement by Dele Oyewale, Head of Media and Publicity, EFCC Executive Chairman Ola Olukoyede reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to protecting voters from financial inducement while exercising their franchise.

Olukoyede emphasized that vote buying is a criminal offense and that the EFCC will not tolerate it in any election. The Commission has been involved in monitoring every electoral process across the country, as part of its mandate to tackle economic and financial crimes.
