Empowering Education: BAT-STEM Initiative for Indigent Students and Schools
In a bid to bridge the educational gap and promote academic excellence, the President’s Special Adviser on Community Engagement, Moremi Ojudu, has launched a comprehensive initiative to support indigent students and schools in the Southwest region. The BAT-STEM program, which stands for Basic Aid to Teachers and Students in Education and Mathematics, aims to provide educational materials, grants, and career guidance to disadvantaged students and schools.
The program’s vision is rooted in the wise words of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who emphasized the importance of education in his statement: “There’s no vehicle that can transport you to your destination as safely as Education.” In line with this vision, the BAT-STEM initiative seeks to provide essential resources to aid students’ education and teaching process.
To achieve this goal, the survey team has embarked on a mission to reach the unreached, identifying the educational needs of students in Ibarapa’s nomadic schools. The team is working tirelessly to provide essential materials, including textbooks, educational equipment, and technology, to support teaching and learning. Additionally, career guidance and mentorship programs will be implemented to empower students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in their chosen fields.
Through the BAT-STEM initiative, we are committed to promoting equal access to quality education for all, regardless of socio-economic background or geographical location. By providing these critical resources and support services, we hope to empower students to reach their full potential and become agents of positive change in their communities.
