Popular Nigerian social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, is scheduled to appear before the House of Representatives on Monday to address allegations of bribery made against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The controversy stems from an audio clip released by Otse, which allegedly features Bobrisky, a celebrity cross-dresser, claiming to have bribed EFCC officials with N15 million to drop a money laundering case against him. In the recording, Bobrisky also reportedly claims to have evaded a six-month prison sentence at Kirikiri Prison in Lagos by using his “aodfather” to arrange alternative accommodation in a lodge.
In response to these serious allegations, the House of Representatives has extended invitations to VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky, and EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede as part of a wider investigation into the matter. VeryDarkMan’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed that his client will cooperate fully with the probe. “We will be at the National Assembly tomorrow with our client @thatverydarkman to assist in investigations into allegations by Bobrisky that he paid N15 million to have money laundering charges dropped by EFCC and also bribed prison officials to stay in an apartment,” Adeyanju told Daily Post on Sunday.
The hearing marks a significant moment in the ongoing investigation into corruption allegations involving high-profile figures and government agencies.
