Police Launch Investigation as CP Advises Caution for Women Using Dating Websites
By Daniel Dafe The Delta State Police Command is actively investigating the death of 23-year-old Miss Precious Yusuf, whose body was discovered along DLA Road, opposite Falcon Club in Asaba. This information was released in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Edafe Bright.According to the statement, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the A’ Division in Asaba, CSP Rex Abiodun, quickly mobilized a team of officers to the scene after receiving a distress call on October 24 regarding the incident. The police revealed that Miss Yusuf had left her home on October 22 to meet a young man at Coka. She was last in contact with a friend on October 23 at approximately 7:30 AM, informing them she was on her way home. Tragically, this was the last communication before her body was found the following day.Her remains have been transported to the mortuary, pending autopsy results. Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police for Delta State, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, has assured the public, particularly the family of the deceased, that the investigation is underway and that justice will be pursued. He emphasized the importance of caution and awareness, advising young women to be vigilant about their acquaintances and to exercise care when meeting people through dating websites and social media platforms.
