Police operatives in Katsina State have taken into custody Aminu Hassan, a 25-year-old resident of Dundubus in the Daja Local Government Area, on suspicion of financing armed bandits active in Danmusa Local Government Area and its neighboring regions.
The suspect was apprehended during a routine patrol along the Yantumaki and Kankara highway on November 19, 2024, where two pairs of military uniforms were found concealed in a black plastic bag.ASP Abubakar Sadiq, the spokesperson for the Katsina Police Command, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Tuesday. He also noted that further investigations led to the apprehension of three additional suspects: Lawal M Ahmad (29), Isma’il Dalhatu (24), and Shafi’u Adamu (28). ASP Sadiq reported that authorities recovered 14 pairs of military uniforms and one police uniform, which were allegedly intended for delivery to armed bandits for their criminal activities. The suspects have confessed to their involvement in this criminal activity,” he stated.In a separate case, the Katsina State Police Command arrested seven individuals in connection with the alleged rape of four minors aged 13 to 14.
These suspects, all residents of Kaita Local Government Area, were apprehended on November 25, 2024, following a report made at the Kaita Divisional Police Headquarters. ASP Sadiq explained that the suspects lured the minors to one of their homes, where they were sexually assaulted. He confirmed that the arrested individuals have confessed to the crimes and will face charges in court once the investigation is complete.Commissioner of Police for Katsina State, CP Musa Aliyu, praised the officers of the Command for their commitment and professionalism in capturing these individuals. He encouraged the public to continue providing valuable information to support security efforts in combating crime in the state.
