A tragic accident occurred in Lokoja on Friday morning, claiming the lives of two female students from the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) and Kogi State Polytechnic. The collision took place along the Felele axis of the state capital, involving a heavily loaded semi-trailer truck that lost control and crashed into a tricycle (commonly referred to as Keke NAPEP) carrying passengers toward the city center.Sources report that the victims were among four passengers in the tricycle. While two others sustained serious injuries, the students did not survive the collision.At the scene, an identification card was found belonging to Covenant Omolola Isaac, a student of Geology at the Federal University Lokoja.
The second victim, identified as Taiwo Abimbola, was recognized by her peers as a Higher National Diploma (HND) student in Science Laboratory Technology at Kogi State Polytechnic.Officials from the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) quickly transported the injured individuals to the State Specialist Hospital in Lokoja for urgent medical care.
