PROF’LEE9JA⛱️ MEDIA reports that the Ogun State Police Command has apprehended a 25-year-old 5th-year Business Education student from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Koya Ayodeji, for allegedly attacking a colleague with a knife during a dispute.According to the state police command, the incident took place in Ago-Iwoye on Tuesday at approximately 11:50 PM.
The victim, Ayobami Ajayi, a 21-year-old 3rd-year Mass Communication student, was reportedly stabbed in the lower abdomen amidst an argument over noise that the suspect claimed was coming from the victim’s room.Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola indicated that the suspect was under the influence of drugs and had been behaving erratically prior to the confrontation with the victim.
PROF’LEE9JA⛱️ MEDIA further learned that Ayodeji had requested Ajayi to lower the noise from his room, but the victim allegedly ignored the plea.In a fit of rage, Ayodeji is said to have grabbed a knife and stabbed the victim in the lower abdomen, inflicting serious injuries. Odutola stated, “A case of attempted murder occurred at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, on January 21, 2025, at around 11:50 PM.
This incident arose from a misunderstanding between two students regarding noise disturbances in a dormitory.””At the time of the attack, Ayodeji was under the influence of hard drugs. He has been arrested, and the Divisional Police Officer has requested a toxicology screening to confirm his condition.
The command added that Ajayi was quickly taken to the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu, where medical professionals reported his condition to be stable.”The Divisional Crime Branch has conducted a visit to the crime scene, recovering a blood-stained knife that has been collected as evidence. Investigations are ongoing, and additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available,” the police spokesperson concluded.
PROF’LEE9JA⛱️ MEDIA reported in September 2024 that a 200-level Philosophy student at OOU, Ayomide Adeleye, was arrested for his involvement in the kidnapping and murder of Christianah Idowu, a 300-level student at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
The suspect, Adeleye, allegedly attempted to assault the deceased, but when she resisted, he reportedly killed her.
