Professor Adamu Ahmed has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
A statement released by the university’s Director of Public Affairs, Malam Auwalu Umar, on Wednesday confirmed that he succeeds Prof. Kabir Bala.
The announcement was made during the 209th (Special) Council meeting, which was chaired by Mahmud Yayale Ahmed.
Professor Ahmed, a faculty member in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, previously held the position of Director at the Directorate of University Advancement.
Additionally, he serves as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Education, Kano. His appointment has been met with approval from various stakeholders, who regard him as a seasoned academic and administrator.

He possesses the experience, expertise, and dedication necessary to steer ABU toward success.
