The Police Public Relations Officer for the state, SP Ramhan Nansel, made this announcement in a statement on Friday.
The statement revealed that one John Gambo, a second-year student in the Department of Banking and Finance at the same institution, was apprehended in connection with the crime following a rapid investigation.
The suspect admitted to brutally attacking the victim, Ibrahim Matthew, with both an axe and a knife, resulting in the tragic death of the latter. Both weapons were recovered from the suspect.
The Commissioner of Police has directed that the case be forwarded to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough investigation and subsequent prosecution, the statement further noted.
