A tragic event unfolded in Afio village, located in the Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State, where a 19-year-old identified as Sunday Moses was discovered dead, having reportedly hanged himself from a tree.Moses’ body was found in a remote, rocky area of the village.
According to reports, the recent secondary school graduate had told his 47-year-old brother that he was going to seek a location with better phone reception to make a call.On Thursday, Ogun State Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident, stating that Moses was located by his brother, John Egbe, after an extensive search lasting several hours.
Investigations indicated that Moses had recently lost his mother, who had not yet been buried in their hometown of Oju, Benue State.
Following the report, detectives were dispatched to the location, and evidence was collected, including photographs, as part of the investigation.
Odutola confirmed that inquiries are ongoing, and the deceased’s body has been released to his family for burial in accordance with their traditional customs.
