It is with a heavy heart and a deep sense of loss that I, Comrade Adeyemi Samson, popularly known as Samrich, condole with the students, management, and entire community of the Federal University of Lokoja over the tragic loss of lives of some of their colleagues in a ghastly motor accident.This unfortunate incident is a sobering reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of prioritizing the safety and well-being of our students.
As a student leader and advocate, it is my duty to stand in solidarity with the affected families, friends, and colleagues of the deceased students.I urge the Kogi State Government to intervene and investigate this incident with a view to preventing such tragedies in the future.
The government must take concrete steps to ensure that the roads are safe for students and all road users, and that adequate measures are put in place to prevent accidents.
Furthermore, I call on the university management to provide necessary support and counseling to the affected students and families, and to work with the government to ensure that the victims’ families receive the necessary assistance and compensation.
To the families of the deceased students, I offer my deepest condolences and prayers. May God grant you the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
May the souls of the departed students rest in peace.
As students, we will continue to demand for a safe and conducive learning environment, and we will not relent in our pursuit of justice and accountability for the lives lost.Once again, I condole with the Federal University of Lokoja community and urge the government to take immediate action to prevent such incidents in the future.
