The Consul General of the German Consulate in Nigeria, Mr Weert Borner, has stated that the German team in Nigeria is stoic on empowering the next generation in digital literacy, especially the women folk in Africa.
He said this was billed to create initiatives for inclusivity, mentorship and breaking down barriers to market access, and ensure that women business owners can compete and succeed in the digital market place.
As it is perceived in most climes in Africa, the business of a woman is to keep the home. But as trends gear up, women are becoming stars in different sectors of the world, and should be encouraged not to settle for less.
In his address, he explained that the time to harnessing local innovation for global transformation is now, and that this speaks to the incredible potential that lies within our joint plans as entrepreneurs, the power of digitalization which transcend Borders, and the role of local innovation to drive global change.Local innovation, he said, is the life card of economic growth and societal advancement.
He further asserted that it is through the ingenuity and determination of local entrepreneurs, that we see the development of solutions tailored to the unique circumstances of our communities.
Congratulating the organizers of the Omniverse 2.0 event, Mr Borner said these solutions, when nurtured and scaled, have the power to drive global transformation. And that the Omniverse Summit is a testament to this incredible potentials that lies within local innovation, and it is our collective responsibility to support and amplify these efforts.
