Troops from Operation Fansan Yanma have successfully eliminated two notorious bandit leaders, Yusuf Gwamna and Malam Ashiru, in Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State. The operation, which took place on Friday night, was carried out by a joint task force of military and police units, acting on intelligence to ambush the bandits.
The engagement resulted in the death of several suspected terrorists.According to a security source, Gwamna and Ashiru were responsible for multiple violent incidents, including kidnappings and armed robberies across Dutsin-Ma, Danmusa, and Matazu LGAs.
Their removal is seen as a significant victory in efforts to combat banditry in Katsina State. Security forces are continuing their operations to track down any remaining bandits and enhance the security of local communities.
