The Defence Headquarters announced that Nigerian troops recently engaged in successful operations against terrorists in various states, including Borno, Yobe, Sokoto, Katsina, Kebbi, Edo, Plateau, Bauchi, Benue, Delta, and Rivers. Between April 3 and April 10, 2025, the troops repelled ambushes, neutralized numerous terrorists, and made significant arrests of suspected collaborators, including logistics suppliers and kidnappers.
During these operations, the troops recovered an extensive cache of weapons, including AK-47 rifles, machine guns, and various ammunitions, as well as logistical supplies and cash.
In the Niger Delta, they notably thwarted oil theft valued at over N869 million, seizing stolen crude oil, illegal refining equipment, and apprehending 49 individuals involved in the theft.
Furthermore, the Air Component conducted airstrikes against terrorist strongholds, leading to the destruction of enemy equipment and positions.
The military reiterated its commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty and ensuring the safety of its citizens, emphasizing the professionalism and respect for human rights in their operations.
