The Presidency has refuted claims that Vice President Kashim Shettima was denied entry to the Presidential Villa, labeling these reports as “deliberate and well-planned falsehoods.” Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications for the Vice President, stated that the allegations are vastly detached from reality and stem from a motive to create confusion within the government.
Nkwocha urged the public to dismiss such misinformation, emphasizing the importance of seeking credible information and approaching sensational claims with caution.
He highlighted an ongoing trend of fabricated reports aimed at undermining the Vice President and creating an impression of discord within the presidency.
The latest allegation—that military units have blocked Shettima from the villa—is described as an absurdity that reveals the lack of substance in the claims.
Nkwocha reassured that Shettima remains focused on his responsibilities and supporting President Bola Tinubu in serving the Nigerian people, undistracted by the false narratives propagated by some media outlets.
He expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their continued support and emphasized that the relationship between the President and Vice President is strong, dismissing attempts to create tension as futile.
The democratic mandate established through legitimate processes, he concluded, is resilient against such falsehoods.
