The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) EKITI Axis executives have convened an emergency meeting to address the recent issues between the NANS Ekiti chairman and NANS Southwest leadership.
After careful consideration today, the executives have decided to take decisive action to create peace and protect the interests of Ekiti students.
The executives have expressed disappointment and unhappiness with the recent developments between the NANS Ekiti chairman and NANS Southwest leadership.
The executives believe that the actions of the chairman have not been in the best interest of Ekiti students, and it is their responsibility to take corrective action.
In light of the circumstances, the executives have decided to suspend the Chairman of NANS Ekiti, Comrade Asaolu Femi, for a period of three days.
During this period, the Vice Chairman will assume the responsibilities of the Chairman, ensuring that the interests of Ekiti students are protected.
The suspended Chairman is required to tender apology letters to members of NANS Ekiti, the leadership of NANS Southwest led by Comrade Owolewa Taiwo, and all Ekiti students for his actions. This is a necessary step towards healing the rift between the two chapters and restoring unity among student leaders.
In the absence of the Chairman, the NANS Ekiti executives extend an apology to the leadership of NANS Southwest for any harm caused by the Chairman actions.
The executives acknowledge that the actions of the Chairman may have been perceived as divisive and assure NANS Southwest that they are committed to working together in solidarity.
The executives, in the absence of the Chairman, join forces with NANS Southwest in solidarity with the expelled student from the College of Nursing.
The executives believe that the student expulsion is unjust and demand that the management of the college reinstates the student immediately.
The management of the College of Nursing is given a 24-hour ultimatum to reinstate the expelled student. If the management fails to comply, NANS Ekiti will take further action, including a total lockdown of the school, until their voices are heard.
The executives are determined to protect the interests of Ekiti students and will not tolerate any injustice.
The executives reaffirm their commitment to protecting the welfare and interests of Ekiti students. They believe that students should not be penalized for fighting for what is right, and they will take all necessary steps to ensure that justice is served.
The executives plead with the leadership of NANS Southwest and southwest stakeholders to accept their apology and support their efforts to resolve the issue.
They urge the suspended Chairman to reflect on his actions and tender an apology letter to NANS Ekiti members and Ekiti students.
The NANS Ekiti executives are determined to protect the interests of Ekiti students and will take all necessary steps to ensure that justice is served.
They believe that unity and solidarity among student leaders are essential in achieving their goals, and they will work tirelessly to restore peace and cooperation between NANS Ekiti and NANS Southwest.
