An inspector with the Rivers State Police Command, identified as Maxwell Zubu, has reportedly taken his own life.
The incident occurred on Tuesday in the Eagle Island area of Port Harcourt.Zubu was serving as a security detail for a former Chairman of the Port Harcourt City Local Government Area. As of this report, details surrounding the circumstances of his death remain unclear.Our correspondent’s investigation revealed that the incident was reported to the police post in Eagle Island, which falls under the Azikiwe Police Division located at Illabouchi in Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt.
A police source, who requested anonymity, stated that officers from the Azikiwe Police Division had visited the scene as part of their initial investigation

Iringe-Koko, a Superintendent of Police, indicated that an investigation is underway to determine both the immediate and underlying causes of Zubu’s death.She stated, “Yes, I can confirm the incident. We have begun an investigation to ascertain the cause, and we will make our findings public.
For now, the matter has been referred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department in Port Harcourt for a thorough investigation.
