Following the release of the 2025 UTME results, candidates and parents inundated social media platforms with complaints and expressions of disappointment, many describing the outcome as a “mass failure.” Disturbingly, even top-performing students—often regarded as “scholars” within their schools and communities—were not spared, fueling widespread outrage and demanding accountability from JAMB.Several parents and education advocates have raised questions about the integrity of the examination process, citing irregularities such as sudden system failures, abrupt logouts, and inconsistent scoring patterns.
In response to these concerns, JAMB announced that a formal review of the issues would commence on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
A dedicated panel has been established to scrutinize the conduct of the 2025 UTME, identify operational challenges, and recommend corrective measures to enhance the standards and fairness of future exams.
JAMB emphasized that the purpose of this review is to uphold transparency, restore public trust, and ensure that candidates who may have been unfairly impacted are protected.Stakeholders across the education sector are closely monitoring the situation as students and their families await clarity and potential redress, amidst one of the most contentious UTME cycles in recent history.
