The Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to protecting the lives and property of residents across the state.As part of this commitment, Governor Aiyedatiwa officially handed over 50 operational Toyota Hilux vehicles to various security agencies during a ceremony held at the Government House in Akure, the state capital, on Wednesday.
This event was organized to mark the first 100 days of his administration.Expressing his satisfaction with the initiative, the governor highlighted that distributing these vehicles underscores the government’s resolve to strengthen the capacity and responsiveness of security agencies throughout Ondo State.
He stated, “This occasion demonstrates our unwavering commitment to enhancing the effectiveness, efficiency, and operational capacity of our security agencies, enabling them to respond swiftly to any security threats or criminal activities within the state.”Aiyedatiwa also emphasized the importance of collaboration among all security stakeholders, noting that such synergy is crucial in tackling the security challenges the state faces.Recalling that in July 2024, the government distributed 25 Toyota Hilux vans to security agencies, he described this latest deployment as a continuation of that effort.

Additionally, I want to reaffirm that distributing vehicles to security agencies remains a key strategy in strengthening our security framework,” he said.In his opening remarks, the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, reaffirmed the administration’s seriousness about security issues and its commitment to maintaining order and safeguarding lives and property across Ondo.
He called on residents to support the Aiyedatiwa-led government in its vision of a safer, more prosperous Ondo.Representing the security agencies, Brigadier General Justin Ifeanyi, Commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade, assured that the vehicles would be used effectively and maintained properly.
He pledged that the vehicles would be dedicated solely to boosting security operations and ensuring quick response times across the state.Similarly, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps), expressed gratitude to the government, noting that the new vehicles would help address mobility challenges faced by security personnel and significantly improve the Corps’ efficiency in managing security issues statewide.
