A devastating fire has ravaged the well-known Wood and Timber Market, popularly called Kara Market, in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, destroying numerous shops and properties valued at millions of naira.
The blaze, which started in the early hours of Sunday, spread rapidly across the market before firefighters arrived, rendering local efforts to contain the fire ineffective.Eyewitnesses recounted scenes of chaos as flames quickly consumed large sections of the market.

The cause of the fire remains unclear as authorities continue their investigations. Shop owners are now tallying their losses, which come at a difficult time following Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, adding financial strain to their hardships.
