Nollywood star Lateef Adedimeji was among the highlight attractions at this year’s Ojude-Oba Festival, as the 2025 edition of the renowned event kicked off in grand style in Ijebu Ode.
This annual celebration draws thousands of attendees from various backgrounds to honor fashion, tradition, royalty, and cultural heritage. Tracing its origins back to the 19th century, the Ojude-Oba Festival is a highly revered occasion where Ijebu indigenes gather to pay homage to their monarch, the Awujale of Ijebuland.
The festival also has its roots in a historic act of religious tolerance, initiated by the Muslim community to express gratitude to the Awujale for granting them the freedom to practice their faith openly.
