Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Affirms Police Reinforcement and Swift Response in the Fight Against InsecurityDuring the commissioning of new operational assets at the Force Headquarters in Abuja on June 18, 2025, the IGP emphasized that the police force is not retreating amid rising insecurity but is instead strengthening its capabilities and prepared to respond strategically and promptly.Addressing the occasion, Egbetokun issued a firm warning to those destabilizing the nation’s peace: “To those threatening the peace of this country, our message is clear: we are coming for you strategically, swiftly, and without hesitation. These assets are not just machines—they are a declaration of our purpose.”He highlighted that the event signified more than ceremonial proceedings; it was a strategic statement of the force’s readiness to confront Nigeria’s evolving security challenges directly.
The IGP unveiled 40 Panthera Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), three MRAP APCs, four Sino Trucks Anti-Riot Water Cannons, and three Anti-Riot Deployment Barriers for deployment across all states, including the Federal Capital Territory.
