The Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, has passed away at the age of 91.His death was announced on Sunday, shortly after the announcement of the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who was a longtime friend.
Oba Adetona ascended the throne in 1960 and was one of Nigeria’s longest-reigning traditional rulers.
He was highly esteemed among Yoruba monarchs and held a significant voice across the nation.
