he Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed Nigerian public universities to complete their 2025 admission processes by October 31, 2025.
According to a schedule outlined in a weekly bulletin released on Monday, private universities are required to finish their admissions by November 30, 2025. Additionally, all tertiary institutions across Nigeria, whether public or private, must conclude their admission activities by December 31, 2025.
These directives align with the schedule approved during the 2025 Policy Meeting chaired by the Minister of Education.
JAMB stated that the aim of this timeline is to stabilize the academic calendar and promote equitable access to admission opportunities across all tertiary institutions.
The board emphasized, “Following the directives issued at the 2025 Policy Meeting chaired by the Honourable Minister of Education, all tertiary institutions are instructed to conclude their admission processes by the specified deadlines: public universities by October 31, private universities by November 30, and all other institutions by December 31, 2025.”
JAMB also urged institutions to finalize their admissions ahead of these deadlines. Even if an institution is not yet prepared to commence the new academic session, it should still conduct and archive its admission process.
Furthermore, the directive requires institutions conducting post-UTME screenings to complete these exercises promptly to ensure compliance with the 2025 admission schedule.
