Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced that the main online recruitment examination for shortlisted candidates in the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres will take place on Thursday, 9 October 2025.
This online test represents a significant milestone in the ongoing nationwide recruitment effort aimed at bolstering manpower within the middle and lower ranks of the organization.
According to the statement, the examination will be conducted entirely online to promote fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity for all applicants across Nigeria.
Candidates have been organized into three groups A, B, and C and are instructed to log in using their National Identification Number (NIN) on the official portal https://updates.customs.gov.ng to check their assigned batch, date, and time for the exam.
The NCS emphasized that strict adherence to the scheduled examination times is mandatory, warning that failure to comply could lead to automatic disqualification.
Applicants are strongly advised not to use calculators, mobile phones, or any other electronic devices during the exam.
The service also cautioned against multiple log-ins or switching between browser windows, as such actions could disrupt or terminate their participation in the test.
Only candidates shortlisted for the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant roles are eligible to take this exam at this stage. Those in the Superintendent cadre will be contacted separately for their assessment.
NCS highlighted that this online testing approach is part of its ongoing efforts to modernize recruitment, improve efficiency, and minimize human interference in the evaluation process.
The agency reaffirmed its dedication to integrity, transparency, and merit-based selection, urging all applicants to strictly follow the established procedures.
Candidates are also advised to be vigilant against online scammers or fake recruitment agents impersonating customs officials, as all official updates will only be communicated through the NCS’s verified channels and social media platforms.
