A coalition of interdenominational Christian leaders and prominent sons and daughters of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, has launched an ’80-day soul-winning challenge’ to celebrate the clergy’s 80th birthday.
The coalition under the auspices of Reach4Christ targets to win eight million souls in 80 days to commemorate the clergy’s birthday.
Speaking at the unveiling of the campaign in Lagos, President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Francis Wale-Oke, said the initiative is a birthday gift “to a man who has dedicated the major part of his adult life to soul winning,” adding that “the project is one which resonates with God as soul-winning is the heartbeat of God.”
He described the passion of Pastor E.A. Adeboye for soul-winning as admirable and inspiring, noting, “These are attributes that should challenge every believer to participate in the 80 Days Soul Winning Challenge.”
In his presentation, the Pastor-in-Charge of RCCG Champions Cathedral, Warri, Pastor Emmanuel Emefienem explained the key verticals of the 8 Million Soul Winning Challenge to include – The 100,000-man soul-winning team, Crusades across 8 Cities, Crusades in 80 Towns, Gospel Invasion of 40 Higher Institutions, Outreaches to 40 Correctional Facilities, 80 Hours Marathon Messiah’s Praise, Outreaches to 2000 Secondary Schools, 40 Mission Fields Outreaches, among others.
Also speaking at the event, The National Overseer, RCCG Nigeria, Pastor J.O. Obayemi emphasized the blessing reserved for soul winners and everyone who chooses to honour a father with a gift that touches his heart.
In his remarks, Pastor Leke Adeboye described Pastor E.A. Adeboye as a passionate and ardent soul winner who goes the extra mile and despises challenging odds to reach continents, nations, cities and even remote villages around the world to win souls for God.
He encouraged Christians everywhere they are to emulate Pastor E.A. Adeboye and join the challenge to win one soul per day throughout the 80 days.
Along with the evangelistic programmes, the team also unveiled plans to transform lives and communities with social impact initiatives in the course of the 80 Days programme.
Other initiatives unveiled at the event are the iReach App and Philip bot. iReach is a mobile and web-based application for setting soul-winning targets.
The App will help soul winners to track and maintain discipline during the 80 Days Challenge and beyond.
The Philip chatbot is an interactive platform built to help new converts begin a smooth journey in Christ.
The 80 Days Soul Winning challenge will span almost 3 months; December 13th 2021 – March 2nd 2022.
