PRESIDENT BOLA TINUBU COMMISSIONS OBA S. K. ADETONA SCHOOL OF GOVERNANCE STUDIES, AS AWUJALE CELEBRATes 64″” CORONation and 90″” BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARIES, MAY 10
As part of Actlvitiles marking the 64″ Coronation and 90″” Birthday Annlversaries of HIs
Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona, CFR, the Awujale and Paramount Ruler
of jebuland, the University will on Friday, 10″ May, 2024 host the President of the
Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
The President in the company of the Ogun State Governor and Visitor to the University.
Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, will be Jolned by several State Governors, Ministers, Top
Government Functionaries, Traditional Rulers and other Distinguished Personalities to
officially commission the Oba (Dr.)S. K. Adetona 5chool of Governance Studies and the
Imposing Multi lion Naira Complex housing the School. The Ceremony will also
witness the delivery of a Lecture by the Chair of the Oba (Dr,) S. K. Adetona Professorial
Chalr in Governance, Professor Akinsola Agagu.

The School of Governance Studies was donated by His Royal Majesty to initiate and
execute rescarches capable of proffering solution to contemporary challenges and issues
of Governance at both local and global levels. The revered royal father who had earlier in
2016, Instituted over half a bllion Naira Professorial Chair in Governance in the
Department of Political Science, had complemented the Endowments with the donation
of three massive iconIc buildings with state-of-the-arts equipment.
It is instructive to note that the Monarch also donated a Professorial Chair Residential
Arena'(comprising the Professorial Chair Residential Bulding, Guest Chalet, and
Domestic Staff Quarters), School of Governance Studies (Director General Residential
Bulilding), and faciltated the construction of thte asphalted road leading to the
International School, Staff Quarters, DG and the Professorial Chair Residential Quarters
on the main Campus. The newly completed ultra-modern Lodge where the Vice
Chancellor currently resides was also faciitated by the Monarch.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ayodeji Agboola, has, therefore, invited members of the
University Community, to grace thls occasion as a show of appreciation to our great
benefactor, Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona, CFR, the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of
ljebuland.
