The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Southwest Zone, alongside the leadership of the Students’ Union Government and other prominent student leaders, held a strategic meeting with the management team of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education led by the substantive Vice Chancellor, Professor Oladipupo.

The delegation was led by the NANS Southwest Executive Director of Special Duties, Comrade Salako Olawale Ayomipo, alongside Comrade Asade Mubarak, the Students’ Union Government leadership under Comrade Ogunfowora Shinaayomi, and other student union leaders.During the engagement, the student leaders congratulated the new Substantive VC Professor Oladipupo on this appointment and the entire management team on the continued progress and administrative direction of the institution.

The delegation described the meeting as productive and timely, especially in view of the growing need for stronger collaboration between student leadership and institutional management in addressing societal and campus-related challenges.Central to the discussions were issues surrounding insecurity, drug abuse, cultism, cybercrime, and other social vices affecting students and young people across the nation.

The NANS Southwest delegation reiterated its readiness to partner with the university management in organizing sensitization campaigns, advocacy programs, and strategic engagements aimed at promoting discipline, security consciousness, moral values, and responsible student unionism.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Comrade Salako Olawale Ayomipo emphasized that the fight against social vices requires collective responsibility and proactive engagement from all stakeholders within the educational sector. He further noted that student leaders must continue to serve as ambassadors of positive change and defenders of academic excellence.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of sustained cooperation between school authorities, student bodies, and security agencies in creating a peaceful and conducive learning environment for students.In his remarks, Professor Oladipupo appreciated the leadership of NANS Southwest and the Students’ Union Government for the visit and their commitment towards constructive engagement.

He assured the delegation of the management’s readiness to continue prioritizing students’ welfare, institutional peace, and academic development while maintaining an open and inclusive administration.
