In other words their mind can think faster than their hand can write. When the brain’s activity is way too fast, it will have an influence on the motor skills too. As a result, the handwriting turns out to be muddy or sloppy. It also means that pen cannot keep up with their brain.

It is commonly observed that most of the intelligent people tend to have messy handwriting.

This is because, the thought process of their mind is too fast & it cannot match the speed of the hand when they write. In other words their mind can think faster than their hand can write. When the brain’s activity is way too fast, it will have an influence on the motor skills too. As a result, the handwriting turns out to be muddy or sloppy. It also means that pen cannot keep up with their brain.

This in-turn leads to poor rhythm and many inconsistencies. Messy writers are mostly independent thinkers. But many times they do not fit in with the expectations of the society.

In some cases it is also observed that messy writers tend to be emotionally unstable & sometimes bad tempered too. This can be an indication of low self-esteem or insecurity. But some of the ugly writings may even show self reliance, creativity & desire to stand out.
