A 52-year-old man named Salihu Byezhe reportedly collapsed during Subhi prayers and passed away in Gudaba village, located in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to local resident Musa Dantani, the incident occurred on Thursday morning at the community mosque, shortly after Byezhe had eaten Sahur (the pre-dawn meal during Ramadan). After performing ablution, he went to pray when he suddenly slumped.

Dantani recounted that while prayers were ongoing, Byezhe collapsed, prompting nearby worshippers to quickly carry him out of the mosque and rush him to the hospital in Kuje. Despite still breathing during the journey, he unfortunately succumbed upon arrival. The attending physician later attributed his death to high blood pressure, a condition he had been managing. One of Byezhe’s sons was present in the mosque at the time and accompanied him to the hospital, where the doctor confirmed his passing.
Dantani mentioned that due to his pre-existing high blood pressure, it likely elevated during the morning prayers.Following Islamic customs, Byezhe was buried at 10:12 am on Thursday.
