Emmanuel Nyabam, a survivor of forced intimacy, has bravely shared his traumatic experiences, highlighting the importance of community among male survivors for healing and strength.

In a video shared by NTA, Nyabam recounted a disturbing episode from his university days when a group of girls tricked him into their room, where they held him at gunpoint and coerced him into sexual acts.

He also disclosed that he was molested by a family member at a young age, an incident he felt unable to disclose at the time. Fortunately, he moved to Jos with his father, which helped conceal the trauma.

However, years later, he experienced another violation at the hands of his landlord’s daughter.Reflecting on his experiences, Nyabam said: “I was molested by a family member when I was very young. Lacking the words to express it, I chose to stay silent.

Thankfully, relocating to Jos with my dad helped shield me from that past. But then, a few years later, it happened again—with our landlord’s daughter.

During my university days, a group of girls lured me into their room, and at gunpoint, they took what they wanted from me. It’s a harsh reality—boys and men often don’t speak out.”
