Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has called on the youth across the state to take advantage of the Nigerian Army’s current recruiting campaign and consider enlisting in the military.
In a statement released on Tuesday by Olumuyiwa Ojelabi from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, the governor emphasized the diverse opportunities available within modern military service.
Representing the State Government, Secretary Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin conveyed Sanwo-Olu’s appeal during a stakeholder engagement at the palace of the Olofin of Isheri Olofin.
The governor pointed out that the Army offers more than just combat roles, highlighting advancements in technology, education, and career development as core aspects of military life today.
He also stressed that increased participation of Lagos indigenes in the armed forces would significantly bolster the country’s security framework.Sanwo-Olu described the Nigerian Army as a symbol of resilience, bravery, and the unyielding spirit of the nation.
He urged potential recruits to stay committed and dedicated to serving Nigeria.“Joining the military not only provides a platform to serve the nation with pride but also grants access to professional training in fields such as law, medicine, and aeronautics,” the governor stated.
He reaffirmed the state’s support for qualified Lagos candidates and reminded them that registration for the 89 Regular Recruits Intake for Trades and Non-Tradesmen/Women will close on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
