PRESS RELEASE FROM THE CONCERNED STUDENTS OF MOSHOOD ABIOLA POLYTECHNIC, ABEOKUTADate: May 1, 2025
We, the Concerned Students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), can no longer remain silent in the face of the ongoing neglect and unfair treatment being shown toward part-time students by the school management.
It is unacceptable that while full-time students have had access to their results for months, part-time students are still waiting for theirs without any credible explanation.
This continuous delay is hindering our academic progress and causing unnecessary stress.Furthermore, we demand that the management urgently address the issue surrounding the first semester results recently released. Many students with good scores have been awarded zero (0) marks, which is completely unreasonable.
How is it possible that students who have put in the effort and performed well are being given such grades? This blatant discrepancy needs to be corrected immediately to ensure fairness and justice for all students.Despite these unresolved issues, the management insists that examinations will commence on Monday.
We hereby state that if these issues—particularly the release of part-time students’ results and the correction of the erroneous first semester results—are not addressed before the close of work on Friday, May 2, 2025, then no examination will hold.
We also call on the Students’ Union Government (SUG) to unite with the student body and support this movement.
The SUG must not allow itself to be used against the collective interests of the students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic.
We, the concerned students, are fully prepared to resist any form of intimidation. We stand firm on our demands for fairness, transparency, and accountability.Solidarity ForeverAluta Continua, Victoria AscertaE-Signed,Concerned Students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta
