Rt. Hon. Prince Suraj Ishola Adekunbi, FNSE Speaker Ogun State House of Assembly 2011-2019,felicitate with the good people of Owu on the celebration of this year’s Owu Day.Prince Adekunbi sends respectful salutations to every son and daughter of Owu and especially to His Royal Majesty, Oba (Prof.) Saka Adelola Matemilola Oluyalo Otileta VII, the Olu of Owu and an enduring symbol of wisdom, culture and leadership for his people.
He recognized OWU DAY as an annual reaffirmation of identity, a moment for communal thanksgiving, and a platform to renew commitments to social progress and collective wellbeing.
Under the steady guidance of His Royal Majesty, Owu has continued to preserve its proud heritage while embracing modern advancement, a balance that honors ancestors and secures a better future for the next generation. Adekunbi pays tribute to the resilience, enterprise, and civic spirit of the Owu people.
He acknowledges the contributions of traditional institutions, youth groups, women’s associations, artisans, and community leaders whose daily sacrifices sustain the fabric of Owu life.
He also recognizes initiatives that promote education, healthcare, infrastructure, and entrepreneurship, all essential pillars for sustainable development. Adekunbi issues a clear charge to all stakeholders: let unity and “one voice” be the watchwords that propel Owu forward. Division dilutes progress; unity multiplies it.
He calls upon political leaders, traditional rulers, community elders, youth, religious leaders, and every resident to set aside sectional interests where they hinder common good, and instead rally around shared priorities: quality education for children, job creation for youths, improved healthcare and sanitation, empowered women, and the protection of cultural heritage.
Adekunbi also offers a prayerful blessing for the continued prosperity of Owu. He prays that the Almighty grant His Royal Majesty renewed wisdom, good health, and long life; that families within Owu enjoy peace and abundance; and that the collective efforts of the people translate into measurable progress for the entire community.
